In the week leading up to Santiago, me and Karina were discussing how we were going to spend our few days in the area. We’d pretty much come up with an itinerary that would let us spend a comfortable two days in the city of Santiago and then we’d move onto Argentina. But then Valparaiso got mentioned by many people to us in Santiago, and I’m so glad it did.

For the past few weeks, we had been travelling across so many different landscapes, met so many different types of people, and being so different to what we were used, we had got used to being ‘proper travellers’. All that kinda changed when we hit Santiago!
San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
We headed out of the EAAF Nature Reserve, and crossed the border into San Pedro de Atacama, Chile on Saturday morning. After a few nights of roughing it in minus temperatures and sleeping bags, we were looking forward to some sun and comfort in the desert!
