So after a few chilled out days wandering the streets of Paraty, we decided to spend the next few days at a place where Brazilians came on their holidays, and get a few days in at the beach. We came to Ilha Grande.

After spending the last five weeks backpacking it across Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina (and Paraguay technically!), we had come to our last destination in South America: Brazil. And our first stop after Iguazu was to the colonial town of Paraty, which was like nothing that we’d yet seen on our travels.

We flew early in the morning from Buenos Aires into Foz Iguazu. After a week or so in the big cities of Chile and Argentina, it was time to spend more time again with nature. And what a good few days it was!
