Our first stop in Asia couldn’t have been more different to the party atmosphere and beaches of Rio, where we had just left. We arrived in the capital of China, Beijing, excited to discover some of it’s incredible history. And of course, eager to see one of our most anticipated and one of the world’s most recognisable sites, The Great Wall of China.

Ilha Grande, Brazil
So after a few chilled out days wandering the streets of Paraty, we decided to spend the next few days at a place where Brazilians came on their holidays, and get a few days in at the beach. We came to Ilha Grande.
Paraty, Brazil
After spending the last five weeks backpacking it across Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina (and Paraguay technically!), we had come to our last destination in South America: Brazil. And our first stop after Iguazu was to the colonial town of Paraty, which was like nothing that we’d yet seen on our travels.
Ciudad del Este, Paraguay
After visiting Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side, we had a few hours in the afternoon to spare, and had the opportunity to cross the border fifteen minutes away into Paraguay, to the city of Ciudad del Este.

Buenos Aires, Argentina
I first read about Buenos Aires in a Disney book Mom and Dad got me as a kid about countries. I remember the different Disney characters going to different countries and detailing in story about what there was to do in those places and their capital cities. For some reason since then, Buenos Aires has always stuck in my mind, and I’d finally arrived here with Karina to see it in person, a place that seemed like a million miles away when I was younger.
Mendoza, Argentina
Hi everyone! We left Santiago and Chile and flew over the Andes, and headed right back down to the other side of the mountains in Argentina, where we headed to the city of Mendoza, a place known for it’s vast wineries.
Valparaiso, Chile
In the week leading up to Santiago, me and Karina were discussing how we were going to spend our few days in the area. We’d pretty much come up with an itinerary that would let us spend a comfortable two days in the city of Santiago and then we’d move onto Argentina. But then Valparaiso got mentioned by many people to us in Santiago, and I’m so glad it did.
Santiago, Chile
For the past few weeks, we had been travelling across so many different landscapes, met so many different types of people, and being so different to what we were used, we had got used to being ‘proper travellers’. All that kinda changed when we hit Santiago!
